http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/11/30/burglar-stuck-in-chimney-dies-after-homeowner-lights-fire/?intcmp=hppop

In Central California, 19 year old Cody Caldwell, was found dead after he hid in a chimney. He climbed in the Chimney on Friday apparently to rob the home. He was thought to be stuck for 24 hours, then when the home owner came home, he lit a fire in the chimney, which ultimately killed him. Caldwell's body was mangled from the dismantled chimney along with all of the inhaled smoke and severe burns.

Hundreds of people were at a play ground in New Orleans for a music video shoot when 16 people were hurt when two groups in the crowed began shooting. 10 people were taking by ambulance and another 6 were transported privately. They are still not certain on the reasoning for the shooting but are investigating, but for now are ruling it as gang related. The gunmen ran off after the shooting and still are not identified.

Former Prosecutor Helps Teen Who Was Given Life Sentence Win Release After 20 Years

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/edward-francis-life-sentence-released_56522eb7e4b0879a5b0b66bc

After 20 years, Edward Francis was released from his life time sentence. He was charged when he was 17 for murder, even though he did not actually shoot but that he was involved. He was the first inmate to be realises under these standards. The attorney he was using pushed for his case because of his remorse and humbleness. Francis expressed that he is glad that he served his time but more options should be given to young people because at 17 it should not dictate the rest of your life. Edward Francis, 37, is all smiles after his release on Friday from an Orange County prison where he had been been sentenced at the age of 17 to spend the rest of his life.

Ex Wife of Former Cowboy Claims The Team Knew about the Domestic Abuse

Dorthy Newton the former wife of Nate Newtons, from the Dallas Cowboys came out in her interview with Sports Illustrated that the team knew that in the 1990s that she was being abused and never helped or defended her. She spoke out about her years of abuse as it started out as verbal then escalated into physical abuse after the first Super Bowl Victory. The abuse got so bad that when she was pregnant her husband shot her in the stomach. One of her friends told the franchise and they still never did anything about it. The franchise has been facing problems because they recently signed Greg Hardy who was found guilty on domestic violence against his girlfriend. I think that sports players are getting away with domestic violence with little to no consequences. It isn't a fair representation of the sport or of the Franchise.

Death in Jail Ruled "Accidental"

Alkina Jones, 37 dies after a short time in jail.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ralkina-jones-autopsy-accidental-death_56462774e4b045bf3deee799?utm_hp_ref=crime&ir=Crime&section=crime

Ralkina Jones was arrested in July after trying to run over husband and a friend in her car. While in custody she had been treated twice since in jail by the medical team in the jail. But only after her third day she was found dead, she had a heart problem and had a sudden heart attack. She appeared lethargic when she was first checked by the medical staff on the first day and her vitals signs were normal. When she was found dead, the medical examiners also found that she had received her same medications in jail. She also was trying to loose weight which was supposed to help her heart as well. This story is interesting to me because I did my isearch on health care in the prison system, prisoners are often not given the medical treatment that they are entitled to having. Its also interesting to me that this story has just surfaced when it happened in July.

Trying to distinguish the parties was very confusing to me, and I need to get clarification on it because there are so many rules and exceptions that confused me. I also found that different sites polled different parties and numbers so it was hard to find how many real and actual parties there were. I found it interesting how many parties there were, it wasn't just a set two parties or few parties that there were hundreds. I also found it interesting there symbols for poltical parties, symbols are as simple as a bicycle or a leaf!

Police Suspended Because of the Pin on His Shirt

A police captain, is suspended because of a pin that he was wearing while on the clock. The pin was a "pro pot" pin and supporting illegal activity. Michael Rehinmener admitted that he wore the pin during the annual police auction. Earlier he had posted on social networking that he supported marijuana, which was rejected by Ohio for medical purposes. I think that yes he should be suspended for promoting illegal activity on the job, but posting on personal social networking and using that against him is an invasion on your personal rights and opinions.

News Post #2- Cycle 7

A bus full of passengers, veered off of a mountain, just northwest of Nepal on Tuesday. The bus drove off the road and rolled 500 feet down a slope. Thirty people were declared dead, and thirty five were injured. Accident in Nepal are normally caused by the poor matenence of the roads and of the vehicles being driven, this accident was a result of it being over crowded because of the fuel shortage in the country resulting in limited transportation available. The shortage of fuel in Nepal, is blocked by Ethnic Protesters and the key border point with India, who normally contributes supplies and importation of fuel.

Americans and TV News

What might be seen as the top 10 facts a person can learn from this article? Aim for a mix of facts that are surprising, obvious-but-important, or important for policymakers to take into account.

1. 3/4 watch local news; 38% of adults watch cable news during the month.
2. Local News= Remains most popular way to gain information
3. Cable TV= even though a limited audience, larger way to influence the national debate and news agenda.
4. When the audience is the largest= cable hammers at a smaller news agenda
5. Three major Competitors= CNN=20%/ Fox=18%/MSNBC=14%
6. Fox New- conservative
7. MSNBC= liberal
8. 38% of people are accessing online news from laptop computer
9. Most Trafficked Websites= MSNBC= 9%/ 6%CNN/ 5%FOX
10. Even though decline in radio= TV/ phones still play major role in communicating news

Americans still are watching the news to information, with that being said news is streamed in many different ways. People are on their smartphones and laptops and get glimpse of the news through out the day. 71% are still relying on local TV news, and 65% are watching Network news, and 38% are watching cable news. This is interesting because then cable news is tailored to specific opinion and views based on who is watching.

Video- The Man Behind the Mosque

1. There were no steps that cable news took to investigate.
2. Pamela Geller
3. They focused on Septemeber 11,2001, and the destruction. They had families talking about their loved ones who died, it was almost as if it were a guilt trip. It was a pull on the public emotions. Reported more about how people felt than what was actually happening. Obama spoke out about the freedom of religion.
4. There were only two employees. Shreive was followed and drilled by the media. Park 51 staff was never interviewed on cable news. It was said that most people viewed the staff as a large enterprise when in reality it consisted of only a few people.
5. Cable news used non Muslims and historians to generate information. Gleen Beck and Pamela Geller were also used in the media.
6. The ownership of Fox was a man rumored to be involved with the attack of 9/11, this is pretty crazy considering the whole news coverage was attacking this man for wanting to build a mosque when the sole leader of the news company was someone that planned a horrific thing, and no one even knew this. This shoes how news is tailored to the public and what will raise attention in the public. They need to get people talking and this is just one way.
7. The Saudi Prince, Waleed bin Talal, nephew of the Saudi King.
8. People move on, people will get tired of hearing one story. New things happen, people move on and get bored from hearing one story for weeks.
