Marco Rubio, a Florida Senator, introduced his views on education during a town hall meeting last Tuesday. Rubio thinks that in order to save money, that we should eliminate a federal Education Department, because it turns into orders which costs money. In contrast to eliminating a Federal Education Department, he does think that the curriculum in schools should be reevaluated but at a state level not at a federal level. Ironically, his education, was funded by loans administered by the Education Department as well, so I don't think that this is 110% thought out on his part. I also think this is interesting because I think this is something very important, just to maintain order in schools and protecting peoples rights in schools. I think yes, its expensive but I think you would face more problems without it rather than with it.
